If you have more informations on this typewriter company and its models please comment below. Hua Xiang Logo [7] Hua Xiang (located in Ningbo, Zhejiang) (meaning China Flying) is one of the least known typewriter companies. Zhou Cimei [6] Zhou Cimei started with producing plastic caps for ink bottles in 1972 (2). His factory was closed during the Cultural Revolution, but he was able to re-open it in 1979 (or in November 1980 (3)). The company expanded to radio parts, later copier parts and then produced typewriters. In 1991 the company won the contract to supply plastic air conditioning parts for Volkswagen's Santana. It has expanded since then to different plastic parts "ranging from electronic harness systems to engine accessories and interior trim." According to research by Alex Sandler the Soviet Progress 5 typewriter was not introduced in 1940 but in 1942. The previous model he guessed could have been Model 4. Now I have found this photography from Межреспубликанский журнал No. 26 from 1940: The banner is saying: The first experimental model of the typewriter Progress M-6. The machine itself looks like a Janalif Model B (1932–40): The typewriter on the right is a Janalif Model A produced 1929–32: What is strange is the name M-6. Somebody knows more? –– It reminds of Indian Godrej where the first model was M-9 and its successor M-8. Click here for Godrej .
